Introducing the NavVis VLX 4
At Intergeo 2026, NavVis unveiled the new NavVis VLX 4 – a wearable reality capture device designed to bring true 3mm point cloud resolution to dynamic scanning.
With its three-LiDAR sensor configuration and NavVis processing technology, VLX 4 captures fine geometric details—including thin pipes, bolts, brackets, and sharp edges—supporting demanding Scan-to-BIM, MEP, and industrial applications. This enables more high-detail work to be captured in motion, reducing the need for slower, more labour-intensive capture methods and increasing flexibility and efficiency on site.
High Detail at Speed
NavVis VLX 4 is the first wearable reality capture device to achieve a native point cloud resolution of 3mm, meeting the requirements of LOD350+ and detail-intensive Scan-to-BIM and MEP workflows.
The system incorporates Hesai’s MT LiDAR, developed specifically for reality capture. NavVis worked closely with Hesai throughout its development, providing feedback to help optimize the sensor for demanding reality capture applications.
By enabling more detailed data to be captured dynamically, VLX 4 can reduce the need for additional equipment, setups, and capture methods on projects where high-resolution documentation is required.
Built for Demanding Environments
VLX 4 is designed for complex, detail-rich environments, from densely packed MEP interiors to industrial plants and processing facilities. Its high-resolution point clouds support downstream workflows including planning, prefabrication, retrofit, modification, and quality control.
The solution is suited to surveying and reality capture professionals, service providers delivering detailed as-built documentation, and engineering and industrial teams working on existing facilities.
Part of the NavVis Ecosystem
Like the NavVis LX-Series family, VLX 4 integrates with NavVis IVION, connecting capture, processing, and usable data in a single workflow. Point clouds can also be exported to established BIM, CAD, and other third-party tools, allowing teams to continue working within their existing workflows.
